South Elementary offers a range of classroom services to meet the needs of our students. Currently, we have sixteen general education classrooms along with Title 1, Resource, Speech, and four rooms for Special Education. We also have rooms designated for Music, Art, P.E., Library, and Adult and Child Behavioral Services. South does have a full time nurse and a family service coordinator.
We are excited to offer keyboarding this year to our second and third graders. Students will be using Type to Learn in this new class offering.
Teachers will be using Class Dojo this year to help communicate with parents and to focus and reward positive behavior by our students. We will also continue our CHARACTER IS MY SUPERPOWER program.
Special awards are given for perfect attendance, All A honor roll, character counts and learning and mastering math facts.
South uses various assessment or technology programs such as Accelerated Reader, NWEA, Reading Eggs, STAR Reading, Math Seeds, and Spelling City.
We would encourage parents to login to Family Access in Skyward to stay informed about their student’s information and grades. This service will allow parents to view their child’s attendance, grades, schedule, food service balance, progress, assignments, and emergency information.
