2017 Prom Information

The 2017 Prom will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis, IN.  The doors will open at 7:30pm with dancing from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.  Students must have a school or driver’s license to enter the building.  No meal will be served at Prom; only soft drinks, cookies and brownies will be served.

The Junior Class Officers are holding meetings every Wednesday from 2:35 to 3:00pm to plan this year’s Prom.  These meetings are open to all Juniors.  Once the planning process has been completed the cost of the tickets will be determined.  Tickets will be sold for cash only in the Bookstore or they may be purchased through the MHS Bookstore Website.  There is a fee to purchase online. Included in the cost of the ticket is a picture package and admission to Post Prom.  Additional pictures may be purchased if desired.  Post Prom will be held from Midnight to 2:00am at Martinsville High School.  Only students who have attended the Prom may attend Post Prom.

The Prom this year is open to Juniors and Seniors at MHS, approved MHS graduates under the age of 21 and approved juniors and seniors who attend other high schools.  Applications for non-MHS students will be available in the Front Office in early April.  These must be fully completed and returned to Mrs. Gaskins in the Front Office.

It is our desire that our students be safe and secure.  Uniformed security will be provided at the Prom and Post Prom.  Students will need to pass a Breathalyzer test to be admitted to Prom and Post Prom.

The Junior Class Officers and students have been meeting weekly since the middle of January. The theme will be Enchanted Forest with colors of white, silver and gold.  The Royal Dance song will be “Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg.  The students have selected flowers for the Prom Court as well as tiaras and crowns.

If you have any questions please call or email the Prom sponsors Sara Wilking and John Cox.
