Participation

Martinsville High School has a rich tradition in athletics with 20 varsity sports that are divided into three sports seasons; fall, winter, and spring. Many of the sports have junior varsity and freshman teams. During the 2013-14 school year, 355 different students participating in roughly 500 MHS sporting events. The average student athlete at Martinsville High School has a higher grade point average and a better attendance rate than the average Martinsville High School student.

The administrative staff and the coaches of MHS feel strongly that there are many benefits from students being involved in extra curricular activities and encourage participation in all after school programs.
