Principal’s Message

Welcome to Charles L. Smith Fine Arts Academy. The 2021-2022 school year is upon us, and we are hopeful that you have already noticed some of our exterior and interior changes as we continue to add more uniformity into our appearance. We are looking forward to a year filled with many new opportunities to share the joy of learning with your children, utilizing the arts whenever possible. We are confident that the learning experiences will be rich and meaningful, and will be enhanced through the integration of our curriculum with dance, drama, music, and visual arts as we continue to explore a new educational path in our community. Our Fine Arts Team will continue to push in to our general education classrooms weekly to help with ideas that can promote and aid in classroom instruction and student understanding of core instruction as well as offer student electives throughout the year to increase excitement and overall achievement. Our school will continue to focus on literacy, reinforcing the necessity of learning how to read and write with confidence and success. The number one predictor of student success is still the ability to read, and we will press on with improving this skill daily. Please do your best to read with your child on a daily basis as this helps greatly with vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Smith Fine Arts Academy Staff is committed to our students and community, and we would love for you to be a frequent visitor to help inspire our students as they create, explore, and achieve each and every day. -Kyle Stout, Principal

Welcome to Charles L. Smith Fine Arts Academy, home of the Bruins! Each day we welcome our Pre-K through 4th grade students with smiles, hugs, love and laughter. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for each student to grow and learn. Our fine arts emphasis is reflected in the student work that adorns our hallways and the many opportunities students have to develop and showcase their talents. Parents and guardians, you are valued member of the team. We are grateful for our families and look forward to sharing this journey with you. If you need anything or have questions, please reach out. Our office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. If you would like to get involved, we have a dynamic PTO and would welcome your help. Together we can make it a great day to be a Bruin!
