End of the Year Procedures

Dear MSD Families,

We made it! The LAST week of school!

Congratulations to our students, families and MSD team! You did it. You successfully engaged education through new and creative ways, and now it’s almost time to enjoy summer break! Like all of you, I’m looking forward to some sunshine and warmth!

Tonight, I’d like to fill you in on some things we’ve been able to finalize. Our MSD Leadership team has implemented a plan for students to retrieve personal items from lockers/classrooms and return school materials/Chromebooks. We were able to deem these procedures essential business for our students through Governor Holcomb’s Executive Order. In addition, our local Morgan County Health Department approved our plan, also a requirement of the governor’s executive order. Outside of the dates and times selected for students, all MSD Martinsville school buildings will remain closed through June 30, 2020.

Our end of the year pick up and drop off information can be found below. Please note students will receive a designated date and time of arrival from their school principal. This ensures only a small amount of students will enter buildings at the same time and help us maintain social distancing.


Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th
John R. Wooden Middle School
10 AM – 3 PM

Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th
Martinsville High School
9 AM – 4 PM
-Yard signs will be available to seniors for pick up!

Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st
Bell Intermediate Academy
10 AM – 3 PM

Friday, May 22nd
All Elementary Schools
9 AM – 3 PM

INSTRUCTIONS – Bell Intermediate Academy, John R. Wooden Middle School, and Martinsville High School

•Students will receive arrival date and time instructions from school principals.

•Students will arrive at designated times.

•Only students will be permitted to enter schools.

•Students should be prepared to drop off Chromebooks, library books and classroom texts as they enter buildings.

•Students will enter and exit through designated doors.

•Students will be given bags for their personal items.

•Students are unable to bring any backpack or bag into schools.

•Face covering must be worn at all times while in buildings.

•Social distancing must be observed at all times.



•Families will receive arrival date and time instructions from school principals.

•Families arrive at designated times.

•Families will drop off library and textbooks in bins outside of buildings.

•Students/Families will not enter schools.

•Families will pick up an individual bag with each student’s personal belongings in a drive thru fashion.

•Social distancing must be observed at all times.



Families, please reserve Sunday, July 12th for our 2020 MHS Graduation. We are hoping for an in-person ceremony. Please remember we are guided by the Indiana Department of Education and Governor Holcomb’s guidelines. Details to come as we get closer to this date and can receive appropriate approvals.



•Grades can be accessed through Skyward Family Access after May 22nd. No Report Cards will be distributed.
•All other requested items will be distributed at a later date (fundraiser items, yearbooks, spring pictures, refunds or field trip money).
