For general assistance, contact your child’s school. If you need assistance beyond what the school can provide, they will connect you with a member of the Technology Department for additional help.
In keeping with our history of providing tools for open communication to parents, the MSD of Martinsville is excited about our latest enhancement to Family Access: Skylert. Skylert is another avenue for parents to be kept in the loop of communication.
Skylert provides the opportunity for parents to enter an additional phone number as well as e-mail and SMS text information into Family Access. In the event of a mass phone notification, the phone number entered by the parent/guardian will be notified in addition to the phone numbers that have already been provided to the schools.
For example, if a child stays with a day care provider and the parent/guardian wants that provider to receive the mass phone calls that are generated by the MSD of Martinsville, they may enter that childcare provider’s phone number into the Skylert area of Family Access, and that provider will receive a phone call as well as the parent/guardian. You may access Skylert by logging into Family Access.
You will find the Skylert link in the same familiar area of the Grade book, Attendance, and Food Service links. Simply click on the Skylert link and a page will display all phone numbers and in what situation those phone numbers will be called such as Attendance, General, Emergency, etc. Please keep in mind that this additional phone number does not affect any other number that has been provided to the individual schools.
As always, should you need to make a phone number change for your child, please contact the individual school your child attends.
We trust that you will find Skylert helpful in keeping important people in your child’s life informed of beneficial information. The path to your child(ren) achieving success is paved with good communication and the MSD of Martinsville strives to provide that by the tools that we provide to you, the parent/guardian.
