Artesians Online

The MSD of Martinsville is pleased to offer Artesians Online, a 100% online educational option for students in grades 5 through 12. Participating students will be considered district students but will receive all classroom instruction virtually.

Student Registration

Individuals may apply for the 2024-2025 school year below.

 

Out of district families, must additionally complete the application for enrollment into the MSD of Martinsville.

Technology

Once details are finalized, information will be communicated through emails.

District devices will be provided. Students will pick up their devices at the Central Education Center. Arrangements will be made at the end of the year to collect devices. Standard device fees apply.

The online instructor will be able to assist with any questions.

Coursework

Indiana Online Academy will provide the Indiana aligned curriculum for students in grades 5-12.

Yes. Students WILL NOT be “held harmless” in academics while learning in the online environment. Student grades earned in the online classrooms will be included in transcripts and become part of the student’s permanent record.

Yes. Indiana Online Academy will make certain that students meet these requirements.

Online students will not participate during the school day in in-person classes.

Extracurricular Activities

Yes. Students must meet the same requirements for participation and eligibility as students attending in person.

Instruction

Yes. All online instructors will be certified teachers.

The IEP for all online students will be followed. Staff will work with families to determine how best to meet the needs of students outlined in the IEP.

The online instructors will work to provide students the opportunity to discuss, collaborate, and interact with one another.

As part of the online learning agreement, students will be expected to participate in the online learning as well as complete work. If a student fails to complete work regularly, a conference will be held to determine next steps.

Assessment

Yes. Students will be required to participate in all required assessments. Statewide assessments MUST be completed by the student in person.
