WIFI Access Points

We have added outdoor access points to each school (and the Central Education Center) to provide WIFI for district devices.

With the increase of digital learning due to COVID, our focus is to deliver consistency for those unable to have internet services at home.

Families can park in the parking lot of each school and download homework from their teachers, then complete the assignment offline while at home. Or, students will be able to upload assignments once finished.

We have a total of 20 new access points in the district where families can access the internet in safely lit areas that are monitored by security cameras.

Family Notification

Hello Artesian Families,

Thank you for your support and understanding as we respond to the effects of COVID-19 and work to do what is best for ALL students and staff during this time. With the news of the Indiana Department of Health elevating our county status to Orange yesterday, and with the number of teachers in quarantine, our Morgan County Health Department has recommended that we move to eLearning or (RED) for our middle and high school students.

Families, our elementary schools and Bell Intermediate Academy continue to be relatively unaffected in comparison to Wooden and MHS. For this reason, our elementary schools and Bell Intermediate will remain OPEN.

Quick note -> Friday, November 13 is a regular in-school day for Wooden Middle students.

Families, for the week of November 16 – 20:

-Wooden Middle School and Martinsville High School students will be eLearning from home or on our RED Stoplight from our Back to School plan.

-All elementary schools and Bell Intermediate Academy will remain OPEN and in GREEN from our Back to School plan.

Families, for the week of November 23 – 27:

-Monday, Nov 23 and Tuesday, Nov 24 – Wooden Middle School and Martinsville High School students will be on RED and participate in eLearning from home.

-Monday, Nov 23 and Tuesday, Nov 24 – All elementary schools and Bell Intermediate Academy will be on GREEN and remain open.

Thanksgiving Break:

Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27 – all schools are closed for the holiday.

Athletic Events / Extracurricular Activities:

At this time, athletic contests and extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled, however, with restrictions:

1) Athletic student sections will be closed beginning Saturday, November 14th.

2) Only family guests and required team personnel (to run the event) are permitted to athletic contests with up to four (4) tickets (or fewer) depending on the size of the venue. Family units must sit together and be 6 ft apart from others.

3) Coaches, music directors, and club sponsors will communicate to students concerning guest ticket limitations.

4) Masks must be worn by guests at all times or kindly asked to leave in an effort to keep everyone safe.

Food Service & Tech Team

Families, our Food Service team and Tech Team are preparing food pick-up locations and Chromebook assistance for our middle and high school students. They will be in touch soon with more details.

Our goal is to return to the classroom on Monday, November 30th.

Families, thank you for your patience as we continue to take thoughtful measures to keep our students and staff safe.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jay Arthur
Superintendent
MSD of Martinsville
