The MSD of Martinsville is offering an ALICE Training Workshop free of charge for families and community on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the Central Education Center (CEC), 389 East Jackson St, Martinsville. The purpose of the workshop is to inform our school community about the ALICE Program, while also raising awareness for options to respond to a violent critical incident.

ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. ALICE is a research-based, proactive, options-based program for responding to a violent critical incident.

The workshop is an opportunity for families and community to learn about the training and have questions answered by a Certified ALICE Instructor. Training began for teachers and staff in the spring of 2021. Our goal is to teach age-appropriate ALICE concepts to our MSD students beginning January 2022.

At the October School Board meeting, Principal Kyle Stout gave a presentation about ALICE training. To review the information, please click our ALICE PRESENTATION link below.

To RSVP for the ALICE Training Workshop, please complete the form below. Please note – only one (1) reservation (name) per RSVP. The deadline to RSVP is Friday, November 19, 2021.

Respectfully,

Jayne Burke
